Why AIRE?
AIRE rafts are some of the most technologically advanced boats money can buy. Their proprietary AIRECell system creates what we refer to as a "2-walled" construction. The inner layer is a lightweight urethane bladder which holds air for days and is not only easily repairable, but replaceable as well. The outer shell is made of their proprietary PVC manufactured by Ferrari, which is drastically different from other PVC raft fabrics. Since this material is non-air holding, they are able to finish it with an acrylic lacquer rather than the standard urethane. This finish creates a much more UV resistant material which as we have found also has much lower friction when hitting rocks.
These 2 walls create an extremely abrasion and puncture resistant raft backed by the best warranty in the industry, 10 year no fault. AIRE manufactures their boats here in the USA, Meridian, ID to be exact, and offer some of the best customer service we have dealt with.
Due to the AIRECell system, the floor is commonly referred to as an "envelope" which houses the bladder. This envelope will take on water which does offer some benefits such as: more ballast in big water, better tracking and more cost effective. As this lets water in it also lets debris in, which is an issue on silty desert rivers as it will wear on your bladder. Because of this, AIRE offers what they call a sealed floor pocket, making this envelope water tight. On larger gear boats this will make it feel more maneuverable, keep silt and sand out, and make the boat easier to load onto trailers as you do not have any additional water weight.
Puma Series
- Turn whitewater, big or small, into your own personal playground. Enhanced with narrow beams, high rockers, and a continuous curve design, these zippy, durable boats are built to play in waves and run tight lines.
- Puma series rafts also make for excellent fishing crafts as the sleek nature of the boat allows anglers to access smaller streams and ride high when the water's low.
"R" Series
- Our best, most stable all-around whitewater boat—ready to run big water. The “round” design, with its large tube diameters and long water lines, offers maximum stability and stiffness
- The "round" tube design also creates roomy bow and stern compartments ensuring additional comfort for passenger and maximizes gear storage.
"D" Series
- D series rafts are quick on the water and features “diminished” bow and stern tube diameter to put you close to the action.
- The diminished design also creates a lower profile bow and stern, catching less wind and keeping the boat out of the anglers way.
"DD" Series
- This design features a shorter waterline for responsive handling and extra width for added stability. The rocker and shape of the bow and stern climb up and over waves like a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
- These rafts also boast an absurdly long frame length, maximizing drybox and cooler storage.
